About 10 years ago I bought my first photo on eBay and I have been an avid collector of photography ever since. Over the years I have gradually built up my collection and I wanted to share it with others.
Being a novice collector, with limited resources, I have made mistakes and have learned that a photo is more than the photographer that took it. I have bought photos by so called great or up and coming photographers that in hindsight were not so good. Even a great photographer can take a bad picture. That being said I have become more selective and now collect photos based on the image and the body of work of the photographer. I have also realized I don’t like over digitally enhanced photos which so many photographers are using today.
By far my favorite photographer is Robert Gregory Griffeth and this site has my collection of over 40 of his prints. Roberts images have what I love in a photo, images that makes you question and look at its meaning . I like photos that are different and Robert’s work is unique in both its process and images (and not digitally enhanced).
I will be adding other photos in my collection I have by other photographers over the next several months. In addition I have some prints and art work I will also post. As well once I figure out setting up an eBay account I will be selling off some of my photos and photo books that no longer fit into my collection.
I would love to hear others feedback on the works on the site.
